1. Heimtali Museum of Local Lore/ Museum of regional and domestic studies
In 1991 Mrs. Anu Raud established a museum room in her father’s farm to exhibit old textile items.
The present museum has expanded into the old village schoolhouse of Heimtali. The visitors have the chance to get acquainted with a perfect collection of samples of national handicraft, to have a look at the old houshold utensils and the classroom equipment as it existed a hundred years ago. In the children’s playroom there is quite a flock of piglets, cats and other domestic animals – all knitted in Estonian mitten patterns and all awaiting for the little ones.
In case you have ordered in advance, you can taste Estonian barley griddle bread and herbal tea in the museum.

2. Lace room and museum of Kaasiku Farm
Those who are interested in gardening and nature can take a tour to the most beautiful garden of Viljandi county. The hiking trail take the hobbyists to the edge of the Paistu primaeval valley. There is a wonderful diplay of the old household decencies and smaller agricultural machines, ancestors`handicraft and old sheets of patterns. The housewife tells interestinf stories of her childhood and parents and shows the former housewife`s wedding gown.

3. August Kitzberg’s Room Museum
August Kitzberg (1855-1927) is one of the well-known writers of Viljandi county and here, in these surroundings, he had obtained inspiration for writing.
In the museum you can get an overview of the Kits’s family tree, get acquainted with Kitzberg’s creation and see how the workroom of a community clerk looked like.
You can continue your trip following the writer’s sources of inspiration and creativity either on foot, riding a bike or driving a car. You can also ask for a guide in the museum.

4. Mõisaküla Museum
The museum was established in 1870. Nearly 2800 displayed items give survey how the settlement Mõisaküla emerged, developed, prospered and declined, especially during the period of Soviet occupation. The visitors learn about the cultural and educational life of Mõisaküla, as well as local economy and manufacturing.

5. Mulgi Village Museum
The Mulgi Village museum is a granary museum and it is situated next to the Kosksilla Primary School. The school life in a village in early times is introduced in the small village museum.

6. Väike-Männiku Farmhouse Museum
There is a display of old hand tools and horse harness and gear in an outbuilding of the farm Väike-Männiku. Some different stuffed birds and animals as well as the low-bottomed boat well-known in Soomaa and a peculiar cone desiccator are also displayed. There is a camping site nest to the farm house.

7. Room of the stuffed animals at Kurekiiva
Taxidermist Peeter Rohila lives at Kurekiiva farm. During his lifetime he has prepared approximately 1500 stuffed animals and birds, about 30 to 50 out of them are exhibited in the farm. The display changes in accordance with the ordered work. Who is lucky enough, may catch in the master at his work.
